This picture was taken as some ships were on the harbor to celebrate the "Talk Like a Pirate Day".

I process it in HDR, combining three picture. This picture is probably not match totally this week challenge but I really wanted to try HDR process.

About the picture itself, it was not easy to access the ship, the event was extremely crowded and I took this one not from the angle I tough doing it (much lower in front of the ship and not on the side) during an early visit in the harbor while the access to the ship was close. So, shamely, one rope goes thru the middle of the head of the figurine.

Slightly more clothed than many figureheads - a nod to the DPC anti-nude wooden figure crowd? ;o)

I find my eye led to the figurehead, as intended, but then my view is blocked by that rope right across the face. I wonder if there might have been a location to shoot from that provided a more dramatic angle and didn't obscure the subject. Of course I don't know. This may have been the best perspective you could get from the pier.
