 I had thought of making this costume for Halloween. When I read the title of the challenge I thought I would do in a week what I planned to do in a month. The hat took several nights of work. My girlfriend helped me a lot and my mom took great part in sewing. The eyebrows were made with hydraulic hemp and painted with colored hairspray. Hair is mine: unkempt and were painted with orange hairspray. My girlfriend had fun to make my makeup and had to tweak it several times during the set because my eyes were watering and ruined his work. For the background, I created a cardboard mask-shaped hat and I used to paint the shapes with a spray bottle (as in Photoshop, but much more easily).The color of my eyes was retouched in PP. I had a great time to do this picture and I hope you enjoy it.

I've checked my camera: the date is the day after tomorrow. I've done the classic error.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nooooooooooooo, that is such a common mistake and what a huge bummer. To me this will always be 1st place cos it was the very best one.

This was (and is) an exceptional image and you can be justly proud of it with or without a Blue Ribbon.

Ughh, after having just gone through my first experience and thrill of getting a ribbon I totally feel for you. But it did get quite a bit of exposure for the short time it was on the top page. I know you must have enjoyed the experience even if you were rushed putting it all together. Next time, at least you'll have the camera's date setup properly. Good Luck.

Wonderful costume, , props, makeup, and backdrop. But I especially love the radiant smile. Such humor in the face. Congratulations on your blue ribbon and PB.

Oh no! As I was writing this comment, the disqualification appeared. I'm so sorry about the ribbon. That happens, but really hurts when it does. Still you achieved an amazing image.

this is just awesome .. i opened the challenge to have a very quick look and this jumped right out at me .. congrats on such a brilliant idea and excellent execution .. 10 ..
now i have to vote on the entire challenge entries .. voting on only 20% isnt really fair .. :)
