All of the oak trees are doing their thing. They fall off of the trees and it sounds like hail falling.

Hard to walk on the deck with bare feet. If you clean them up, in 4 hours, it looks like this again.

Right away, this said Fall to me. Something I don't miss much in FL. This reminds me of living in NY (Westchester Co.). We had the same problem. I liked to walk barefoot in the grass and couldn't do it because of all the sharp hickory nut shell the squirrels scattered around.

Very nice! It's that season. I have noticed chestnuts starting to fall around my place the last week, quite a mess they make but it is fun to gather them.

Oh my what a wonderful image, love the lines and the vignette really gives depth. Nicely framed too.

If I didn't know, I would never have guessed this was from a camera phone. Timeless and classic.

Nice pattern made by them, against the horizontal planks. We went hiking on Sunday, and passed by quite a few old oaks, with hundreds of acorns underfoot. Plus, we planted three small oaks in the back yard this spring, and they dropped acorns too -- but only about half a dozen!
