 Last second shot and entry. Wish I could've worked more to get a more interesting shot of this spider, but time was short. Not sure about the dots on her chelicerae, but I thought the orange color was pretty neat. She's very large... about a 4-5 inch leg span, and I caught this one locally. No pet stores :)
I believe this is a Carolina Wolf Spider.

Lit using two SB900's, one shot through an Orbis to get nice diffuse light and give those catchlights, then another to provide more oomph and make the textures pop a bit more with tiny shadows.

Yikes, 4-5" and you caught it locally!! Eep. I had thought it was of those teeeency lil guys with a huge amount of magnification. Charismatic little monkey you captured! Nice work.

Yikes! His eyes look so human - presumably a ring flash? And the great big shaggy beard... great expression, great composition, great lighting. Top 10.
