 Canon 70-300mm @ 100mm with a 36mm Kenko extension tube added.

Natural room lighting from overhead (no flash). Small aperture of f/32 for maximum DOF with required a long shutter speed of 15 secs and the use of a tripod.

Anticipated remarks

1) Not a fan of B&W
2) Not an insect, water drop or something with more WOW factor
3) More of a close up than a macro. (If you've ever held a Shure SM58 in your hand you'd know it's more macro. This photo isn't cropped in any way)
4) Looks like glare from a flash (I didn't use flash...)

I like it...think it's cool, and that's what matters. :)

I think this would have been so much better without the border which is a tad distracting and the crop is something I don't understand.

i like this slight angle of the stripe around the middle of the mic. i like the flow

Good but I would of like to see the black border all around, somehow it looks not quite right top and bottom
