I was having trouble sleeping the night of the challenge rollover, so I was up when this one was announced. It just so happened that I was in Houghton, MI, which has the pretty cool bridge. I knew it was neatly lit up at night, so I wanted to get a night shot, but I was leaving the next day. So I threw on some clothes, drove down to the Portage, and took this photo less than an hour after the challenge was announced.
I really enjoy the clarity of this photo, as well as the individual light reflections and the starbursts created by the lights. Also, I didn't notice this when first looking at it, but the white spot in the photo is Jupiter. This is one of the few night time photos that I have taken which I really really like.
