Challenge: Fill Flash II (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-40D
Lens: Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8-4.0 Aspherical DG for Canon
Location: Dauphin Island, Alabama
Date: Oct 9, 2010
Aperture: f/9
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/250 w/flash
Galleries: Portraiture, Nude
Date Uploaded: Oct 10, 2010

Just to keep from getting the DNMC votes, I used sunlight as key and flash as fill, running the Vivitar 285HV at 1/2 power for a 40% flash/ambient ratio. Working with a light-skinned blonde on a very sunny day, I had to be careful not to blow highlights.

Eight 1's? I really can't understand those low voters, they are pissing me of lately, and that's a great example of how they can suck.
This is a great example of fill flash in my opinion, the light on the model is amazing and the background is so perfectly processed and composed that makes it look like it's in a studio. The theme is provocative which i think it's great for the different reactions people have when they look at her beatiful body. Good job!

Brave girl. Double amputee, then? :-D I'm sure it's just the angle at which she's holding her legs, but this looks odd.

You crack me up! I so want to see this one on the front page! Strangely I'm really having a hard time stopping my eyes from wandering down from her face. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Sea looks pretty beautiful too!

Excellent in this category - and at least this is fill flash. I think it would work better with a less saturated background

Incredible colors! The ocean is stunning, and the horizon alluring. The little waves gently lapping on the smooth sand are very inviting, and give a feeling of warmth and nostalgia. Plus the gradient sky is lovely, and really draws the eye to explore the heavens and the infinite beyond. Just a couple of minor distracting elements which mar the otherwise perfection of a gorgeous ocean shot.

Something about the horizon line cutting through her head doesn't look right , I also would have cropped tighter and maybe shot from either a higher or lower angle

Good thing her shirt is not wet or you would be able to see right through it. :P
