Greetings From the Critique Club

First Impressions:
I like the picture. I myself gave it a 7 when it was in voting

Technical (Comp, lighting, color, focus):
The composition is good. Might have been better had the leaves been laying toward you more....but what ya gonna do? I love the suns rays peeping through the leaves and fill flash was just enough to light them without overpowering them. Although it seems to be laying flat in the middle of the picture.

Challenge:
I'd have to say that you met the challenge. Without your fill flash the leaves would have been rather dark.

Artistic/Emotion:
In my opinion this is a fine artistic piece. Seems almost like a duo-tone abstract.
All art should draw some kind of emotion from the viewer - this makes me want to be outside.

Summary:
I was actually floored when I reviewed staistics. Are you kidding me? OK, lets look a little deeper. The lack of sharpness could have hurt this image. The bottom part of this photo seems to have what most DPC'rs look for....it's sharp with nice colors and contrast there; however this didn't flow through to the whole image. For the most part I don't think I'm a typical DPC'r as I find the best part of this photo to be the sun's rays coming through the leaves at the top. So, I'd say that you didn't reach the typical DPC'r but there were a few of us who appricated your photo for color, the lines and the back light.

It doesn't seem to be in focus, unfortunately.

Nice color to the sunlight. What's really hurting this photo in my eyes is the lack of extreme sharpness, and the difference in color of the flash (cool/neutral) and the sun (warm).
