 Poured salt in a speaker sitting on a table. Triggered flash manually when sound began. Rotate 90 degrees, crop, sharpen, clone out some stray salt, curves, save for web. Lighting included 2 strobes. One close with a blue get, one high up to fill in.

Wow! this is the most creative shot I have ever seen in my life and it fits into this challenge very very very very well. The colors and timing are perfect. If this one couldn't get blue ribbon, it must be a system bug or glitch and I would be so disappointed in dpc. I will vote 11 if I could.

I keep coming back to this one! Love the colors, love how you gave sound a physical attribute! Very well done! Fantatic focus ... fantastic lighting. Well sectioned to create a place for the eye to fall. Good job!

The problem with a bowl shaped speaker is, well it kind of looks like a bowl. I love the shot and the vibration visual created with a fantastic shade of blues. Most appreciated color I've seen all challenge. It even surpassed the blue bird I rated much earlier. I wanted more punch and I think this is such a great close-up; Added composition may have bumped up my score if you could have the same shot with someone somehow facing the music. The white halo looks like underwater bubbles. Great shot.
