 This image was taken by me on assignment.

I truly expected to get blasted for entering it. I've been surprised by the high score simply because without seeing the sequence many would assume it was falling or diving. The runner just prior to this jumped over a would be tackler and in mid-air was caught by the other defender and tripped up to fall like this.

Thanks for the comments and votes. Another ohh so close but no ribbon. :D

Who would have thought a 5000ISO image would finish top 5 on DPC where noise is taboo. :D

Image ran on the "jump page" with the story on the game in the paper I work for. :D

This is awesome! So clean & sharp at night. Low perspective with Great action! Doesn't get any better then this! Gave it a 10 going into the Favs.....Nice work!

ISO 5000?! How did you clean up that night sky? Don't even think my D700 could do that. Excellent photo. Congrats on the HM.

Edit: I see you've got a 1D there, but still. Impressive noiseless performance.

I was thinking at first not a jump. You are going down idea left once I saw your title. I can now see the struggle of the jump and raise my score by two points accordingly. Love the action and framing.
