Not the best photo I've taken all month, but the most meaningful. I was in Illinois for my wedding, staying with my future in-laws. Over breakfast I asked about any interesting bridges that might be around for the bridge challenge. Always a top guy, my future father in-law took it upon himself to take me on a tour of the bridges in the area.
I messed up the server time, not realizing the server was on east coast and I wasn't in Illinois, so I didn't get a chance to enter the bridge challenge. But after a few bridges and huge fried pork loin sandwich, the tour continued, and he eventually brought me to this, the largest corn crib in LaSalle County. It's massive. Those open doors down on the bottom left and right are truly people-sized.
We couldn't get too close, as it seemed to be completely infested with yellow jackets and/or wasps/bees (flying stinging things).
My processing could have been a lot better, but I did it with only my laptop monitor and it really does make a difference.
Again, not the shot so much as it was just the day and experience that made this photo for me.
And now I'm married and back in Germany. |

Gorgeous light.
I have to admit though, being just slightly off center in a square frame is bugging me. The square frame seems so formal, so considered. Then the barn is loosely positioned within that, not enough off center to seem purposeful, just enough to be loose. |
