Just a Canada Goose in late afternoon, but while the subject is rather ordinary the light and color really appeal to me. And I got eye contact ;-) I actually liked the uncropped composition (with some straightening) but for this challenge I wanted to show the eye more clearly.
PP - white balance, straightened, cropped, levels, increased saturation and contrast, colored goose feathers a bit browner, dupe layer, erased goose and merged with original in multiply mode at 50% transparency, gradient filter to further deepen dark colors in the background, dodged goose face, resized, sharpened, blurred background more, cloned out sharpening haloes. |

Beautiful colors - fall reflection? I wish the neck reflection wasn't cutoff - otherwise it would've made my top 5. |

Next time try to get a picture where the subject looks INTO the open space/neutral space. Never to the outside. That was the best advice I got a long time ago. 8 |

This is truly lovely! People don't take many pictures of canada geese, because they see them so often. I forget how lovely the are. Nice capture! (not voting in this challenge.) |

Stunning. The composition, focus and gorgeous amber tones!! Nicely seen and executed. Upping my vote on 2nd review. |

I do have a soft spot for Canada geese. :- )
Nice water colour and ripples - if I was being fussy I would probably prefer it to be recropped (if possible) so he was looking into the shot - rather than out of it, but that's just personal taste |

Very nice. Portrait would have done this more justice and scored it higher. Still a good take. Head facing the wrong way for this comp but the colours are just so sweet and warm |
