 I've been trying to ribbon with seagulls for years. I guess a 7+ and honorable mention is a good showing, but SO close.... :-(

Late DQ, and a ribbon is mine. That's 4 this year, all yellows. Thanks, Penny, for pushing me hard :-)

This is a very substantial crop, it was a grabshot with the 100mm macro lens. Gotta love the 5D smoothness...

So ... I had indeed underestimated your gulls at 4th pick. Sorry bout that! This might be the first time ever that one of my top picks got a real ribbon as opposed to the contrarian type. Congrats, Robert.

What are they herring?

Man that was bad. Lack of sleep. Excellent shot. Composition is truly great, lovely tones, and excellent detail in the feathers. Perfectly exposed as well. Nice job.

Guessing this is Robert's due to the comma. Wonderful light, excellent detail, and no idea how you got them both in focus. Nice pas de deux or however that is expressed.
