 This was an awesome experience, we were 28m away from a pair of cheetahs ... several shots to choose from. Not sure this will actually score that well, I'll be happy if it breaks a 6. Shot with a 400mm f/2.8 lens I hired for the week out of the open top of a 7 seater 4x4 bus thing. Loads of shots to choose from, some would possibly score better but this was the most exciting experience of the trip, they are fairly rare and we spent a couple of hours trying to find where the Cheetahs were, when we found them they were munching on a Hare :)

I love that you left the tree in this shot, instead of cropping it in close. Incredible shot. What a beautiful series of shots!

I've gotten to the point now where I give all zoo shots a four. Really good ones might get a five -- if I'm feeling generous. This is obvoisuly not a zoo. A park maybe, but I doubt it. These animals appear to be in the wild -- their natural habitat. And, as your title suggest, they look hungry. The background gives the viewer some sense of the vastness of their turf. And the challenge of finding their next meal.

Yes, Grog looks for lunch. How did taker-of-images know? But Grog will not hunt cat-of-many-spots today. Grog knows taker-of-images makes documan dokewmentary docyoumentry writing on many parchments about endangered animal clans. Grog retains good knower-of-laws who tells Grog to not hunt here today. Grog will hunt in wildlife challenge instead.
