 Whilst in Kenya we went for an early morning walk at sunrise. We were camping and walked straight out of the campsite ... we were walking about half a kilometer from where we saw lions the day before :) We did have a guide with a rifle just in case!!

Panned the gnu as it ran, cropped and basic curves and levels

I guess this wasn't in the spirit of the challenge which is why I assume it was dq'd as the time stamp of the image is 04.38am! The camera was still set to UK time whilst I was in Kenya for a week (2 hours time difference, it was actually 06.38 local time)

I'm confused - sunrise in Kenya is a little after 6am at this time of year?

Definitely reminds me of a cave drawing. Very cool image. Probably won't do well in this particular challenge, but I love it. (Not voting, just commenting.)

This is such a cool photo - and I envy your early morning light, it's pitch dark in England at this time of the year! An absolutely super photo that speaks of the african plains.

it's just too blurry.
and it doesn't look like it was taken pre-5am.
however i won't let that affect my vote.
