This is so much an image that needs time to appreciate, and time is unfortuantely what most voters seem not to have.
You may have been killed by the speed voters in the challenge, but that is no reflection on the quality of this image.
Wonderful work... |

You got an X-Prize! For images I scored the highest, but placed the lowest.
This is very evocative of real darkroom work. The half sabatiered effect looks like so much silver on the paper. It just feels good. The composition and expression work well, the exposure is good, but it's the sabatier that keeps me coming back. |

i had given this a 10 just because to me this is different. its a portrait... yes. but the way you edited is wonderful and creates something different and amazing! I hope that next time you place better. This picture deserved better. (one of my faves of the whole challenge) =] |

This is OUTSTANDING, very evocative. Wonderful backlighting and processing. 65% in voting and this is my favorite one so far. Ambivalent about the "overlay" on the hair but still a perfect 10 from me. =) |

A little crazy and out of the box, but I like it. |

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Great composition, lighting and model - I like the subtle coloration too. The make up is great.
Critical stuff: I think the low contrast detracts from the image a great deal and the strange patchy brownish hues are (in my view) quite ruinous.
Overall: Potentially a great image but ruined I feel by the stuff I've mentioned above. |

Intriguing and gothic. Like a siren from the silent movie era. Love it. |

An interesting portrait that is let down by the obvious burning effect with her hair and background. I know that I can see this because my laptop screen is probably not well calibrated but I can only vote on what I see. |
