These portraits are incredible. You seem to be able to capture the essence of who these folks are and reveal that essence with absolute beauty and style. Your texture and overlay choices only add to that beauty. |

This red paste in her hair is known as ‘otjize’ and is used as protection against the weather and a skin lotion. It is also rubbed on the skin and onto traditional clothing. When Himbas come of age at puberty the girls have many smaller plaits covered in otjize, like this girl. |

Don't take this the wrong way, this reminds me of the Diva Plavalaguna from the Fifth Element movie. What is in her hair? I've looked & looked but I just can't figure it out. |
