Well you can see the PS newbieism showing! As some of my wonderful comments have pointed out I could have softened the line between the gaus blur on the background and the subject.. DUHHHH I shot this through a black cage and into the sun, useing F4.5 it burned through the front and only left some tiny specks in the background, but that is what is making the gray line around the cat.. I now know how I could have fixed that, but I thought it was KINDA NEAT... every challenge Learning Experience!!! And Thanks so Much for all the nice and Helpful comments!!

The 'halo' is a slight distraction but when you get to the eyes of this cougar and and the ears cocked back in an aggressive stance - whoa! Dangerous beauty and you captured the deadly look very well.

Gave this a 9 the first time around and still love it now. A fantastic shot.

Congrats on the right attitude about editing and DPC. It's a fun LEARNING experience :-) Oh, and for the beautiful image. Always feel like I can walk up and pet one of these...

It's hard to believe something this beautiful can be so dangerous - wonderful capture - hope you do well.

Not a big fan of your treatment of the background, but the shot of the puss-cat is great.

I'm not voting but it looks like a scissor has been involved. Sorry, but it does. Wonderful photo though.

If the image's focal point didn't draw me straight to the center of the image, your title would have. It's DNMC for me... sorry. But, the good news is that I'm not voting. :)

Other than the challenge topic, I'd have given this a 9 in a Free Study. Beautiful!
