Seven exposures blended in Nik HDR Efex Pro, then more texture added with Color Efex Pro tonal contrast filter. Cat fur overlay in pin light blending mode gives the feel of brush strokes and results in the painterly fiery sky.

The orange sky with the textures looks like it was done in quick impressionistic brush strokes. The tree and all it's vivid colors also calls to mind some impressionistic styles - more specific I think some of Van Gogh's work such as Mulberry Tree, Trees in the Asylum Garden or Road with Cypress and Star

I wouldn't be driving in that direction, there's like a huge fire over there, beyond that gate! Seven exposures? Wow. Colleen, how are you liking the Nik HDR plugin? I had the trial version, but they gave you only 2 weeks, and I didn't get to try it much. I have heard mixed reviews so far, what's your impression?

And one nitpick (I always have those, sorry): Top left-hand corner, your overlay is peeking in funny. To my eyes, if you were to extend the branches of the front tree into that corner, obscuring the hazy overlay there, the image would be more convincing.

Another painterly one. The sky is very Van Gogh-esque!! I wonder if those old guys are rolling over in their graves seeing what modern technology does to art!!! FAN TAS TIC!!
