I saw the idea on the Kodak Picture of the day:

window leaf

I thought it was such a fun idea, I had to try it.

Top 20 with a leaf! How cool is that!!

There was more involved with this than I expected. The interesting background was out of my back window, not the front, but there was no light on the window. I couldn't light the window without reflections, so I put a flash out on my deck, pointed at the back of the leaf, and worked with that. Didn't have anyone to spray the leaf, so I'd spray it, run around inside, and try to snap the shot quickly. (An infrared trigger would have been nice at that point.)

You cannot go wrong with a leaf. The bokeh is gorgeous and I like the drops in the foreground being as focused as the leaf itself. Really pretty.

Great idea and well executed. It reminds me of a chinese painting. The dots on the right look like chinese alphabet in columns.
