 A memorial to a lost surfer (I presume) at a popular surf beach in Maui.

This was edited hastily from the lobby of the hotel. Here is a version I took more time with:

Nicely composed, you managed to make the cross the main focus despite all the objects in the frame.

I think I like your entry more than the other version. It's got more punch in the memorial itself, and I like the reflection on the water. The composition also focuses more on the memorial itself, whereas in the alternate, it's secondary to the landscape.

I like how the line from the tide extends outwards from the cross, pulling my eyes across the scene.

Gorgeous capture. The shutter speed is perfect--pretty sharp, but just slow enough to get some movement from the wave, which reinforces the title and the message. Very well done.
