Just after I returned from a trip to Kansas, this challenge was announced, and I was disappointed because nearly everything in Kansas is vintage. I wasn't sure if I would be able to find a great subject in Madison, as it seems like this city trends towards the more modern. But, while driving for my reflections shot, I came across this run down barn (which actually looks to still be in operation, judging by the vehicle tracks). I had to come back the next day, as the light at the time was horrible, but I'm glad I did, as I really do like this shot.
Post Processing:
* White Balance
* Topaz Adjust used mainly for the exposure, and slightly the color
* Topaz detail for a bit of extra detail, but mostly to adjust the Tones
* Cropped
* Increased Exposure
* Decreased Black Point
* Increased saturation with lower vibrancy
* S-curve for contrast
* Shadows
* Vignette added (used Exposure to give more of a washed out vignette feel)
* Export to TIFF
* Resize
* Added Border
* Save for Web |
