Dasani Purified Water in Snow. 34mm Focal length stacked with +4 and +2 Tiffen Close Up Lenses..Manual Focus...Handheld braced by kitchen sink. Boosted levels/curves, saturation and decreased red and green color channels as I boosted blue a bit.

(I would probably rate this a 6 myself.. let's see what you all think). :)

CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE
by Karmat

Composition -- I really like the composition of this shot. The three bottles form a triangle of sorts which makes for a strong, balanced shot I think. The ice in the foreground helps to compliment the "cool" feeling blue has.

Technique -- Though I scored this a 9, I can see how others may be bothered with the seemingly lack of focus on the two bottles. Maybe if the two front bottles were both crisply focused and the back one was not, it would have appeared more intentional. Also, you mentioned in your notes that you decreased the red and green as you boosted teh blue. I am wondering what effect that had on the ice. At first glance, it looks ok, but as I look at it more closely now, there are spots that are washed/blown out, or an odd sort of gray color. Also, it would have really toppped it off if the bottles had looked "wetter," if that makes any sense at all.

Overall Effect -- As mentioned before, this was one of my favorite photographs. It met the challenge, I feel, both physically (the color blue) and "metaphorically" (feeling cool). As a matter of fact, it has made me decide to take a break, and go get a bottle of water. How is that for effectiveness!?!

nice composition and the ice makes me feel cold which makes me think of blue!

Not bad.

Too dark for me. The ice caught your light. All of it needs to be in focus. The other two bottles out of focus add nothing to the depth or to the photo. Nice composition though just needs better execution. PTL 5

Like the pic. The whites are over exposed and you the DoF is too shallow.

out of focus?

I like the composition but it looks like the exposure settings were measured for the ice not the bottles of water, resulting in the bottles being rather underexposed. I think it would be better to have the bottles a little lighter.

The focus appears to be a little off. Good concept.

Good idea, but the two bottles (middle, and right) are out of focus.

A stronger DOF would help this photo. Nice contrast of the blue bottle on the white ice.

would also make for a good advertising challenge submission.

The crushed ice is in focus more than anything else it seems. The focus on this one isn't the best, and a shorter or greater dof would have been better than the inbetween one. And more light.
