Marcus again, same night as my Vintage and Night Portrait submissions. Gah, been so busy, haven't gotten out to play as often as I'd like.

Anyway, this was a three-strobe photo. I managed to bumble my way into a classic key, fill, kick setup. One strobe, gelled warm, held by my hubby high and in front of Marcus. One strobe, gelled warm, aimed at the pavement at his feet to bounce some light into the under shadows; also served to spark his eyes. One strobe, no gels, off on the left sitting on the fountain pad to kick the side of his face and light the smoke from his pipe.

Better in black and white perhaps; the color cast doesn't look right. Also, I wonder about the placement of his head between the two lamps.

Hey I remember this guy. I feel like the framing should be tighter. The red dot above his head is annoying. Awesome pipe!

I̢۪m sure there̢۪s an interesting story behind this shot. The setup is lovely but I feel the exposure was slightly too long or the ISO too high. There is too much light on his face and the brightness of the bulbs in the background are too distracting. The shot is still good enough to attract my attention.

Elementary, my dear Watson.
