Medstar now operates medics on bicycles at crowded events where an ambulance would be delayed getting there. Could have used this at the Trinity Trot 2 years ago when several people collapsed out on the riverbanks and ambulance response was difficult.

I spoke with these folks and they tell me that the employees came up with the idea of medics on bikes, but the company was not initially willing to go for the idea. The employees personally invested in the needed bikes and related gear and proved it worked.

Original from RAW converter:

topas adjust, spicify extra lite custom preset
Topaz detail, boosted small detail and sligh lightern of cyan/red toward red.
High radius USM for contrast

slight desat of background using layers and masks

Looks can be deceiving. I chatted with her and the other bike medic just after this, and they were quite friendly and eager (as are most people) to talk about what they do. I gave them one of my cards with my e-mail if they wanted the pics, but have not heard from them.

I like what Topaz did to the bike and clothing of the rider. I think it is too harsh on her face. Masking the background might give the image more depth, and let the 'ambulance' stand out more.

I like the extra definition in this, specially in the face of the paramedic.
The story is immensely interesting. I can see advantages and some possible problems. Do they respond singly or do they go in teams? Anyway, it sounds like it is a success, so that is great.
