I really liked the idea behind this challenge, so as soon as I saw it, I started jotting down ideas for photos. However, this photo didn't come from any of those ideas. On Thursday during the challenge, temperatures rose into the 40s (very high for this area this time of year), and all the snow started melting. This caused very heavy fog, which allowed me to grab some shots in the morning just for fun.
Then, on my way home from work, I noticed how the light from my headlights was really cutting through the fog. Since I keep a mental list of places that look like they would offer cool photo ops, I put two and two together to shoot this shot. The road is near a new Target, so much of the area is still being developed. That allows me to get the cool street lamps, along with pretty much nothing else, giving a very desolate feeling.
I really enjoy how this turned out. The way the light posts and trees can be seen fading into the distance is probably my favorite part. I definitely wish I had advanced editing so that I I could get rid of those reflections near the light, but oh well, I will live with it.
Post Processing:
* Increase REcovery, Black Point, and Brightness
* Topaz Adjust mainly for the noise reduction
* Increase definition
* Slight decrease in saturation
* Small s-curve for contrast
* Export to TIFF
* Resize to 1600px
* Sharpen Edges
* Resize to 800px |

| I'm sensing maybe England here don't know why, anyway you've made a very mundane normal scene into a very nice photo, its not a photo that jumps out & grabs you but a photo that requires a certain mood to be appreciated, bravo. |
