DPC, composed of DJ Prinze Charming, Daddy Prime Cut and DJ Powerz Cube is a scratch/rap band out of Columbia College Chicago. Mercury Uprising is their first album produced by the legendary DJ PCurtis.
Now for the photo, this is a candid shot of three guys hanging out at the Anish Kapoor sculpture (Cloud Gate, affectionately called the "Kidney Bean") area in Chicago's newly opened Millennium Park.
I don't know who they are.
The unfinished Kapoor sculpture is open for viewing only for this week after which it will be covered to finish the installation. I was down below having dinner at the open air restaurant, the short building that you can see on the reflection, admiring the sculpture when I saw the guys. So out came my camera and clicked away with my long lens. Two of the guys actually glared at me. When I saw the result, I thought it was appropriate for this challenge. Sorry for the hot spot in the middle but I can't do anything about the sun's reflection.
Post-processing included NeatImage, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, resize and unsharp mask. |

The shot doesn't seem quite "polished" enough for me to picture it on an actual album cover, but it's a great location idea for a shot, and executed pretty well on the whole. I'm not sure if your models were voluntary or candidly captured, but their posing might have been improved. Also a little more depth of field might have helped put them into better focus without giving up the focus on the reflective dome. Anyway, cool concept. Nice work. |

Though I think you could have zoomed in a bit more on the band, I love the the backdrop of the urban setting on this chrome globe (?). It really adds realism. Title is a bit of a stretch for me, but won't hurt your score. Overall, I get the impression that this would make a good album cover. Good job! |

Needed to see the crew closer in this shot. Really like the name and idea and the silver mercury bubble. Very good. |

Great image, love the curcature of the buildings...these boys look "In da hood" and I can really see this as an album cover. |

Great shot. I think a closer crop of the "crew" would be better, with less sky. Still, a cool shot. |
