The problem here was to make this iris "art" as I conceived it. Where was the main attraction and how to interpret it. This is what I came up with.

This makes a good shape - maybe you could process it so it is even more abstract -

I like the crop that you have done here Alice but I think I prefer the lighter tones of the original. The darker petals IMHO seem to blend into the background too much losing that 'in your face' effect.

I think you found it! Very "arty"! Love the color with the deep tones directing you out and the pastels bringing you back in again.

I love the exaggerated detail. This would probably turn out great painted. LOL. That's my current kick, creating paintings from photographs.
