We walked out of my office building and turned left and I said hey..... contre jour! .... does anybody have a camera? So this was actually taken with a little Lumix that we had just given my daughter for Christmas. I wanted my girls to be in it but they weren't interested.

Probably looks quite different today. This snow, it has to end, please. Perfect for Contre-jour with the people in silhouet gingerly walking in the big city.

I thought you said this was doing poorly. Check your commenter average! And it placed very well percentage wise. Maybe not as high scorewise but voters in general aren't big fans of shooting into the sun. I still think this is a great shot.

It goes all gray and slushy, but it makes for great lightplay on the sidewalk.

Very nice street scene. Your composition is just excellent, at least for me. Your perpendicular lines are squared off, the traffic light comes to a satisfying close within the frame, the girl on the left isn't cut off, the leading lines of the grid take your eyes into the light and the action. And it wouldn't be the holidays in NYC without Macy's. Tones are excellent. The whole thing is extremely well balanced. This isn't lucky street photography. This is something special. Well done.
