I actually like the original with a crop, however, I am experimenting with what I can do with the editing tools in the D7000. I wish I could see the edits on the computer while I am working on the images with the camera software. This one was going for the long lens, shallow depth of field look.
Steps; warmer, "miniature" effect with focus zone on the eye, crop.
Shot at 300mm , hand held with VR.

I can't decide if the tilted horizon was on purpose or not. Love the backlit horse, and I think the DOF works.

Hmmm! I think I'm with MattO on this one Waddy. Although I do like the blur and the colouration I think I'd prefer the subject to stand out with a sharper focus.

I love the light, very much golden hour. I prefer the original to the "miniature" effect, but it never hurts to experiment.

Love the light through the horse's mane and tail. The camera does give you a shallow DOF. Interesting.

I love the softness of this. It complements the golden glow beautifully. I'm a sucker for horses, so this is very appealing to me.

its a beautiful horse waddy .. love the gorgeous yellow glow .. it seems to be coming out'v the horse .. fantastic lighting . :)
