 You know when one train of thought leads to another that was the case with this photo. I was thinking about the work challenge and thinking maybe I could photograph me doing laundry in a creative way. Then I started thinking about maybe doing an old 1950's type housewife setup which got me thinking of how they used to show wives with bandannas tied around their hair when they worked and ta da! All of a sudden I thought of Rosie the riveter. I looked it up the old posters on my computer and thought hey "I could do that"

Anyway, this is what I came up with I wish the execution was a bit better. But I was the model and after around 200 failed attempts I sort of gave up and went with the best of the worst. Even with its focus and lighting flaws I still really like it, I especially like how I got the colors to match the poster almost spot on. Here is the original poster from 1943 in case anyone is interested.

Good job. Here's the back story to that photo. I heard it on the way home from work one afternoon when I couldn't get my preferred station.

Nice retro subject. Good colors. I feel like maybe the depth of field is a bit shallow, since the face feels out of focus.

I think it's great, and I know the image you speak about, I just wish the focus was more spot on as it seems to be ahead of her face...7 in any case
