 Elephant seals have been coming to California central coast beaches for hundreds of years to mate and birth. This shot is from a series of shots of a baby elephant seal climbing on the mother. The affection they showed was wonderful to witness.

Rented a Canon 100-400mm L for this. I like it.

Develop RAW in LightRoom. exposure, crop, color temp, clarity, vibrance, sat, lower contrast, resize.

Photoshop, USM, save for web.

Lovely wildlife shot. However, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this as suiting the topic, since seals generally live up to 30 years. Kudos for a creative try, however.

This is a complete shoehorn for me, and does not meet the challenge in my opinion.

Cute scene. I don't imagine this will seal the deal with the voters, but it's a very cute scene. Not voting, just blubbering.
