 A wheel of an old rusty machine that has not been in use for a long time but used to be a small concrete mixer.

Cropped in Lightroom and I used “Medium Contrast Plus” to make the dark rich tones. Exporting to PS for final touch of tonal adjustment, Noise Ninja, levels, curves and then I resized the image, sharpened, framed and saved for the web.

Love the close-up viewpoint showing the rust and wear. Top 5 on my list.
EDIT: each time I scan over my votes, my eye is drawn to this thumbnail..I wish I knew why this picture is so magnetic. Maybe the color, or the texture...really a beautiful picture..well deserved the 8!

is it an old v-dub wheel? i like your selective dof, and nice cool tones....suits the image nicely.

It might have worked out a bit better if the hub was on the left third of the image. It seems too close to the center of the frame to be off balance. just a thought.

I like it over all.
