I like the horizontal layers in this image with the branch reaching out over the lake |

This makes me think I have to visit this place, but not necessarily in BC ;) |

Indeed. It's everything that's not in the frame that makes you contemplate what is. |

Before I saw the title I felt a sense of longing, a bit of sadness. And an acceptance of both. |

A sense of loss of the past never to be found again. Young and fresh to the world, seeing wonder in everything. It's in my mind but mostly buried deep under a fog of thoughts and memories built up over a lifetime of just living.
If only to have that feeling back, only for a fleeting moment. Thank you Zeus. |

another interesting compositional trait about this image is a Yin-Yang interactions between the black branch and white clouds which appear to be wind-swept in the opposite directions. |

To be displayed, solo, on a large white wall with subdued lighting. |

yes, this speck of white is a great touch, after initial inspection it quickly becomes the focus of the photograph. I think it's a bird though, too big for a leaf :) |

An oppressive use of foreground, even without the title I get a sense of pressure and drowning. The presence of that single white element floating in the water anchors the image and gives the viewer hope for a great day! I can honestly say that this is a masterful composition.
eta: bird, got it!

Very mood evoking, the clouds create a feeling of serenity. |

I love it when clouds come down from the heights and look like they're embracing the hills, as though trying to reclaim solidity. |
