Wow Julie, the voters must hate millet. This one don't have that face grabbing contrast, vivid colors, and tight cropped single subject content that gets the big DPC votes though. As a birder, I can see what you liked about this photo, and I like it too.

Cute bird. The focus seems off. I also think the flowers are competing for the attention iwth the bird. Perhaps a differnet composition wiht more wood frame (which is interesting) and less flowers would work.
