Week 4

IndigoButterfly was the first to note that this is a tree pod. Check it out at

for a different angle. Her "fillet of fish" interpretation was most amusing.
bspurgeon nailed it by indicating the shades/shapes play, which was the reason to choose this presentation in the first place.

At first I was thinking some sort of fabric or leather, but after reading everyone elses comments I also think it is a pod.

I think I know what this is: I have a tree that drops these pods not far from my house.
Clever how the perspective makes the inner portion looks like a fillet of fish.

It's potpourri? It's one of those peas, the bigger, dried ones... they crack open like this. A dimension gap :).
I absolutely love the DOF.

First thought... a leaf on a linen fabric? Nice framing and tone to your shot.

I was thinking it could be a leaf folded over, but now I think that daisydavid's suggestion is more likely to be right.

Maybe the edge of old cardboard that has the layers split open. When can I collect my prize? ;) It's a good macro, I love how you get that slither of focus which is just enough to foil against the blur. Nice.
