| Great composition & crop. I think the shot would be even better if the focus was centered on the eye. |

| This elephant shot has a lot of potential to score high if some elements within the composition were in sharper focus. First off, I love that you composed the shot to show off the texture of the skin and that we can gaze into this elephant's eye. However, because of the focus, a lot of detail is lost especially the eye. From your title the main focus of the shot is to be the eye but it is rather blurred. Your focus point should have been on the eye and from there a high aperature (8 or more but you might also have to boost the ISO to prevent blur) to get a greater DOF both in the foreground and background. |

| Seems you missed focus. Zoo shots are a dime a dozen anyway. The framing is good. |

| Focus is really soft here...especially if your going to title it Stare Down...the eye should be razor sharp |

| I think the focus really needs to be on the eye, especially with a title like "stare down". I do like the composition and the "in your face" feel of this. 5 |
