I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: I really like the idea behind this shot - the contre-jour composition, the fill light on the face, the upward curve of the road (most of all) and the near-monochrome coloration. I like the texture of the road too and the car at the top is a treat.
Critical stuff: Although I quite like the tone-mapped appearance of the background, I'm not so keen about the tone-mapped subject. I also think he pose/stance looks a little awkward.
Overall: This is a very interesting shot though and one that I like a lot. |

| I like the setting, the lighting but his pose seems like he was caught in the middle of a sentence and was surprised by the camera... He's also not as sharp as the wall behind him. |
