 This was taken during 2009 when I went home for a short Christmas break in my hometown of Legazpi, Albay. Six hundred kilometers south of Manila, Philippines.

It was a cold Christmas eve. My wife and i were riding a motorbike. Really wanted to take a shot like this before it stops errupting, or at least before my vacation was over. This volcano has perfect cone, and there are lots of roads and small highways that circle its base, so basically, my wife and I went riding along those roads on a cold night before Christmas, hoping to get a nice view.

Very dramatic - the volcano looms large and captures my attention instantly. The lava flow really glows off of the dark mountain. Menacing yet very beautiful.
