To answer hajeka's question, this shot was taken in an islet northeast of singapore. Ubin is the name of the island. Pulao is a Malay term for island. This shot is from the side of the island which is mangrove wetland.

It was dark when i took this shot, and i did not have time for hdr or long exposures due to the impending unexpected rain. I got there at the wrong time as most photogs go there at dawn for beautiful, foggy sunrise. But to do that, they would have to camp out overnight as the island is very remote and not very accessible during very early hours of the day.

Fantastic choice of subject. And this is probably what hajeka meant as well. I don't think it's too dark, but that there aren't enough contrasts between the darks and lights.

I love the subject and minimalism though. The shot has great potential.

Nice view (although somewhat dark) with that lonely tree in the water and the mountains on the right.

But for me it's a photo with questions, which is good! Is there always water around that tree or just sometimes? And what does the title means? Google isn't very helpful here.
