I didn't think much of this at first glance, but it has really grown on me. Very simple and elegant - the kind of picture I often striive for. I think your shallow dof really works well, and I love the choice of BW. I was initially going to give a 6 but I decided it's one of my favorites in the challenge. 8!

Interesting shot. I like it. Even with the blur on the background and foreground, I "feel" a lot of neat texture here. I think the b/w sets a good mood. Good job.
