An everyday object but not presented in a particularly original, creative or visually appealing way. Lighting seems a touch blown out and composition feels routine and static. Doesn't have the creativity and impact of many of your other images. |

I doubt anyone will bother reading this but I feel the need to state that this image was barely manipulated in post-processing. I achieved the high contrast look by upping the EV setting to overexpose the white background. The only thing I did in post-processing was to adjust the darks and lights in the color balance to make the black a bit richer (added blue) and the whites brighter (subtracted yellow). I upped the contrast a tad. The painting on the sneaker was done by my daughter and was not added digitally (which would be illegal in any case). The point was, the high key, graphic quality of this image was fully intentional and for that reason alone, I'm quite happy with it and feel that it was a success. The original, simply resized.
Shutter Speed 1/45
Aperature F 3.5
ISO 160
EV+ .7

Hello Melissa from the Critique Club
It seem you have got me twice tonight I hope that you won't mind too much
This is a good choice for Everyday Objects
But the background looks very white which in turn gives a very sort of one dimentional look to the shoe
This may have been better to tone down the shoe and place it on a dark blue background or even with some Denim Jeans
IMHO this is a good idea but for some reason just doesn't really work
(I have plenty of those moments) LOL! I also find the D P C voters are not all that great on Digital manipulation for some reason
Sorry I cannot be a lot of help but enjoy your photography and good luck in your future Challenges
Regards
Sally |

Some digital manipulation here with photo added? For this challenge, better without the added imagery. |

The highlights are too blown out on this - washed out some of the shoe's edges. |

i love the idea, but am not sure what it is about the picture that doesn't pop for me. it probably has to do with the lighting, the lack of sharpness, and that this is the best you can do under the constraints of basic editing. would love to see the original. |

Just wondering, who's on the shoe? |

I guess it is about time to get a new sneaker. |
