I'd be lying if I said that I didn't care how this shot does because it happens to be one of my all time fave shots that I've ever taken.
I had waited for nearly 30 years to see Carlos Santana in concert and FINALLY on the day of my 54th birthday, I got to see him in concert. That was a thrill in and of itself.
To get this shot, I had to wait my chance to sneak past security. I did that as well and got this shot, people rocking away beside me. It wasn't easy to get to that point or to get this shot with being bumped into the entire time.
It may not fit the typical Free Study Style shots or even DPC winning shots in general but, it's THE best shot I've taken in 2010 for all of the reasons listed above.
I'm sure that some advertising style shots will take the cake and this one will sink to near the bottom of the pack but, it's in because I love it. I'll regret the scores I'll see on this and regret having entered it because of them but, I'm being brave and putting it in anyways because I'm PROUD of this shot! :)

I don't know..but, I kind of considered Carlos Santana, himself.... a "wow factor"!!! LOL ;) I was actually lucky to get this shot after sneaking past security to get closer. Didn't have a lot of time or chance to ask him to pose while I got the lighting right. ;) LOL ;)

Laughing at myself here..."Hey....Carlos....sssspppppp....can you pose for me? I need a shot for a DPC challenge...BEFORE Security carts me off and escorts me off the grounds!" LOL ;) Thanks Enzo for your comment...it created imagery that had me laughing at myself. :) |

| I'd prefer to see a moment that shows him a bit more engaged, ecstatic, whatever. Maybe it's his angle. The technicals seem good enough. |
