The motto of Wisconsin is "Forward." Unfortunately, our recently elected officials are trying to take up backward, by repealing all the good things that the last 3 administrations did. If we could see the face of Lady Wisconsin atop the capitol, I'm sure she would be frowning.
This photo is an HDR of three handheld exposures. When I took the photos, I didn't even think of HDR, I just had the camera set to bracket (-2/3, -1/3 and 1) because I was out shooting for the Street Photography challenge. Luckily, Nik's ability to align and reduce ghosting comes to my rescue, and made this HDR merge possible.
I really like how this turned out with some nice clouds in the blue sky, the warmer colors of the mid afternoon sun, and the police vehicles stationed outside of the entrance.
Post Processing:
* Nik HDR Efex Pro
** Medium Tone compression
** Slight increases to exposure, contrast, saturation, and blacks
** Large increase to structure and warmth
** Diffused HDR at around 30%
** Two control points to increase saturation in the sky
* Topaz DeNoise
* Chromatic Aberration correction
* Increase black point
* Increase saturation with lower vibrancy
* S-cruve
* De-saturate purples |

Great perspective, but I can't help but wonder if it would have been a stronger image if the lower part of the picture had been cropped out. I find the road running across it and the snow pile rather distracting. I also find it slightly overprocessed, in my opinion. |

Very nice. Great perspective. Works really well that it's falling away, as it gives it a bit of movement and makes the building more impressive in a way (make sense?). Nice processing as well. |
