I chose to keep the fork's shadow in the shot because I felt it gave the composition an extra touch.

This is a very unique and pretty shot. I too think it should've placed much better then it did. You have some very nice shots, so I woulnd't get too down about it.

BTW, your profile shot is kinda creepy... in a cool way of course. :-)

this looks more like a work of art to me than an everyday object. i just love the colors and composition and i'm giving it a 10.

Unusual yet very effective composition. Lighting done well too with the nice shadow.

Good use of color.

Verrrry nice! It makes me wonder how you made the background blurry. And also very grainy. But the fork is sharp as a tack, and smooth and clean, no grain. Perhaps the background was printed out that way? However it's done, I like the lighting and the background, even though it puzzles me how it was done. Nice choice of colors.

the side-lighting and shadow really bring this fork to the top of the utensils submissions. The unusual framing guides the eye and really gives an otherwise good photo real punch - an OOF foreground that really works. [9]

one of my top picks this challenge - simple composition and excellent use of negative space

nice composition, maybe better with more contrast...

I can see this hanging in a gallery, but with a real fork, and a wee halogen light providing the shadow. You've caught the essence of a whole generation of modern art.. Perfect 1/3rds composition to boot. :-).

Would like to see the fork area a little larger against the green -- seems like of lost. Otherwise, I really like this!

Beautiful composition. I dont know what background you used but it is spectacular. The background minus the fork would make a beautiful abstract piece of art in and of itself.

Very unique framing. Several photos I've seen so far have an interesting frame but this one is the most interesting yet. I think the natural compliment to the frame would have been to colorize the fork in a complimentary or contrasting color. Very creative effort.
