Taken hand-held using manual settings with an off-camera Nikon SB24 flash bounced into a brolly.

Post processing in the gimp was crop, scale, small contrast increase, USM, full desaturation of red, partial desaturation of other channels, and then add a border.

Yes I'm using a Nikon flash with my Canon.. It was cheap, and has more manual settings than you can shake a stick at when used in it's non-ttl modes.

Way outside my comfort zone on this one, I originally did a macro of a paperclip, and then the idea of a zip or buttons came up. Then my wife agreed to this, and given she normally wont let me point a camera at her at all, I thought it was too much of a good thing to pass up! :-).

i'm not really sure what i like so much about this one. i think it's the sheen on the delicate bow peeking through the industrial denim. i like the composition, too. 9

I like the angle created by the zipper and the mood set here. I think this would look better as a black and white shot though, rather than the blue/black/white. Reason being, the colors don't contribute to the intimate nature of this shot. A great idea though.

Great piccy but your model might want to wax next time. If it wasn't for the bits of hair I would have given an 8

I like your destruation, focus and light, but not really very appealing or flattering shot. The idea is okay but could be improved.

Abstractly, this image has a great composition and use of color. On a more gut level, the grey skin is disturbing. Without background images as a color reference, the effect is that the skin really is grey. Still, I'll give it an 8

Nice use of desaturation and great capture in general.

Great shot. Nice concept. The texture in the skin is a bit distracting though.

Gorgeous. The tilted composition works well here, with additional interesting angles provided by the V the zipper creates. Is that natural skin color? It looks like it's been selectively desaturated. Or has it been powdered or something? 9.

Nice work! That damn string draws my attention away! I am just nitpicking because it is a great shot!

i can only imagine how you got the color out while under the constraints of basic editing...maybe you're breaking new ground for the rest of us?
