Outtake from the FS entry

Trying SilverEfex Pro. I'm not happy about the composition here, something is wrong with it, like it's about to collapse. Or maybe it's because of the church :). Also the bright area on the left is too bright. I tried to remove it, but then the continuity of background brightness is broken and doesn't look good.

I picked a preset in SilverEfex, added a yellow filter to it (emphasized the roof so nicely), some very mild sepia, sharpened and a layer of slight gaussian blur... just enough to bring up some magic around the church.

What I like about this one? The grass growing on the roof :).

wow, I love this, the black and white is quite effective to me

Sweet. I like the sharpness of the little details (like the grass on the roof, the reeds in the water, etc.)

I don't know, I rather like the composition. It feels very well balanced to me. I think you've done a good job with the B&W.

Quite nice. I couldn't begin to think of how to improve it. Maybe a bit more room at the top? The cross seems dangerously close to the top of the frame. Very nice shot.

Beautifully shot and processed. Great contrasts in this scene which makes it perfect for b/w. I need to give SilverEfex a trial shot to see how it is.

Pretty scene. The main building seems too bright for the dark tones of the sky and hill, it tends to demand my eye contact while trying to compose all the rest as a scene. Hope that helps.
