I am a patrol sergeant for my local Sheriff's Office. I supervise a team of deputies who are very active and proactive. This traffic stop was nearly a pursuit - thankfully the driver changed his mind. Under miranda the driver said that he was going to try to lose us, but was talked out of it by the passenger. Almost 3 grams of uncut crystal methamphetamine was taken here.
This will be one of very few work photos I post - mostly because if I am on scene of something photo-worthy, I have other responsibilities to tend to. I took this opportunity for 2 reasons - the challenge and to open myself up for questions, should there be any. I have followed a few of the "LEO vs. Photog" and "Gun" threads on the forums here with great interest . . . I have resisted the urge to jump in, though, because past efforts on other forums have left a bad taste in my mouth. Often, once I am "outed" I face a certain amount of prejudice that I can avoid by observing from the background.
I am not a great, or even good, photographer yet, but it is my goal to be so one day. |
