 These shoes may be lonely but they are NEVER afraid!
Protected by the always alert and watchful eyes of...drum roll..."The Guard Cats"!

I tried many times to get "the" shot that I envisioned for the challenge only to have one or more of the barn cats jump into the shot. Another time, Hewey grabbed a shoe and would have burried it if he wasn't such a sucker for dog treats. Finally, I gave up..."too cold in the barn, anyway", I grumbled. Looking through my many shots with half a cat, a pointing dog, blobby things in extreme motion blur running through my frame, etc, one after another got me laughing and I figured, why not?!
I think it's hilarious. Will it score well? Heck, no!

my eyes want to go everywhere else but to the shoes.

i would love to see this shot without the cats and shoes, in color, for another challenge.

Points for creating a visual puzzle, and more points for kitties. But this riddle wrapped in an enigma is about a lot of things, least of all shoes. Should do well with the PH crowd :-)
