Tried to capture the fine details of the old feather. Used a studio table with three halogen lights and diffusers. In Photoshop: auto adjusted for color; cropped for effect; clonned some specs out; unmasked buy 100% with a radius of 2.5 and a treshold of 2; sized for the web.

A very nice sharp image. Good exposure and interesting wear and tear. Bumping to 7 on clarity.

You've got some great detail here, and a very appropriately simple composition. The creamy color of the center of the quill doesn't seem quite natural - bit bright and distracting. Perhaps an entirely b&W would be better. 7

Beautiful macro shot. Love the way you cropped and framed it. 8

The strongest element of this for me is the brilliant use of negative space. Everything else is technically superb. Hope it does well.

Exceptional lighting and textures. Black background is perfect. I like the fact that the feather has some small imperfections. Two suggestions for improvement: 1) A more diagonal placement and 2) dump the border.

nice shot. love the textures. hope this does well. could probably use a little more dof (you lost a lot of detail in the hotspots).
